How many teeth do you have? How many are filled? What materials have been used? These are some of the many questions our patients regularly ask us. With computer generated dental charts and records all of our patients can see their records at the touch of a button. Our expatriate and overseas patients find this particularly useful as records can be emailed. Accordingly communication with practitioners interstate and overseas with data stored digitally simplifies treatment.

Digital Radiography

Digital radiography requires much less radiation and the images are immediate. X-rays are a necessary diagnostic tool and can greatly increase the chances of detecting early decay and abnormalities.

Periodontal Records

Most periodontal diseases can be prevented if an early diagnosis is made. This ‘silent’ ‘slow burn’ disease can only be diagnosed with specific radiographs and periodontal charting.

Intra Oral Camera

The Digital Intraoral Camera allows us to see and record images of your teeth and your mouth in a magnified version on a colour computer monitor. This can be done comfortably in minutes with a small hand-held camera, which helps us to make a better diagnosis about your condition. Before and After treatment Images can also be compared.

The advantage of the Intraoral Camera system is that it will allow you to fully understand the present condition of your mouth and how different situations can be treated. This will help you to comprehend the long-term benefits of different dental options.
Since the system is advantageous in understanding both diagnosis and treatment, enhanced clinical outcomes will be achieved.

Diagnodent

This diagnostic tool is a small-calibrated Laser that measures the mineral content of teeth. By recording /monitoring teeth we can accurately detect new active lesions developing in teeth before they cavitate the tooth. This technology combined with the Prepstar ensures with regular Hygiene and maintenance appointments drilling and anaesthetics can be avoided for many patients.

Pentamix

When our laboratory constructs Crowns, Bridges, Porcelain Veneer Laminates and Implants they do so under microscope. This ensures the accuracy of fit is measured in 000's of a millimetre. A better "fit" is usually the best defence against decay, ongoing sensitivity and failure. Our prerogative is to deliver to our Laboratory the most accurate impressions bar none. To achieve this we utilise an automated mixing machine to avoid human error when mixing.

Dental Loupes

In modern dentistry today techniques and patients are placing higher expectations on our skills as practitioners and our overall results. To achieve correct diagnosis and desired goals, dentistry today cannot be practiced to a high standard with out magnification. For this reason Dr Adam Keyes – Tilley utilises Dental Loupes for magnification for all procedures.

Prepstar Microabrasion System

The Prepstar Microabrasion System allows us to perform small to medium fillings without anaesthesia (needles) and without using the drill. This system has received a lot of publicity in the media. It must be stressed that large fillings, metal fillings, crowns and laminates still require anaesthetic and preparation with the handpiece. However for a large percentage of restorations (particularly in new decay in young patients and fillings on exposed root surfaces) this form of treatment is an absolute Godsend.
Once the fillings are placed the handpiece is required to shape and polish the filling. However this is easily tolerated as there is no " tooth cutting" involved.

 Digital Blood Pressure Monitoring

Recent medical research has linked Heart Disease to periodontal disease. Accordingly we routinely provide complimentary blood pressure monitoring on a regular basis to all of our patients.

Pre DiabetesTesting

Diabetes is another hidden, under-diagnosed disease in our community. If diabetes is not diagnosed and managed correctly serious systemic manifestations occur. As there is a strong link between heart disease, periodontal (gum) disease and diabetes we offer our patients a complimentary pre diabetes-screening test as part of our Continuing Care program.
