The sound of the dental drill and the anticipation of anaesthetic injections can make some people anxious about attending dental appointments. To enhance your dental experience and alleviate any apprehension you may have towards treatment procedures, we are proud to offer the Waterlase® dental laser.
Waterlase® technology combines the precision of a laser with the gentleness of water so no heat is emitted and as no part of the handpiece touches your tooth, there is no vibration felt through the tooth. This eliminates the discomfort sensation quite significantly. It is also very quiet so your appointment is more relaxing.
The Waterlase® completes procedures with pinpoint accuracy. The risk of damaging healthy adjacent teeth and gum tissue is eliminated when the Waterlase® laser is used.
Since many procedures can be completed without anaesthetic, we can eliminate the time it takes to give injections and wait for the area to go numb. Additionally, the laser allows us to complete more treatment at any one time, providing you with a more efficient appointment.
Highly versatile, the Waterlase® laser can be utilised to:
- prepare the gums around a tooth that requires a crown
- prepare a cavity for a filling
- remove dental decay and assist in tooth preparation for a filling
- make root canal therapy a much more comfortable and efficient procedure.
One of the main benefits of laser treatment is that it greatly reduces post-operative discomfort following any surgical procedures, and promotes faster healing.
Although the Waterlase® laser is at the cutting-edge of dental technology, there are some limitations such as the removal of amalgam fillings. To ensure the safe removal of your amalgam fillings and replacement with natural looking tooth coloured fillings, more traditional dental methods are employed.
Ensuring you are completely relaxed and afforded the highest level of gentle care throughout your appointment is foremost to the Complete Dental Care team.
